Variable Output Inflators (VOI) GmbH is a leading, state-of-the-art, innovative, automotive airbag inflator company, working in the development of 21st Century Airbag Restraint Systems.

VOI GmbH has assembled a world class team of engineers and technicians, specializing in the fields of chemistry, physics, mechanical engineering and electronics, who deal with all aspects of both design and performance of technologically advanced airbag inflators. VOI GmbH brings the concept of automotive electronically adaptive restraint systems into present day reality. 

The company was established in 2002 as a subsidiary of Island Pyrochemical Industries, a U.S. Corporation involved for the past thirty years in the manufacture and supply of specialty chemicals to an international client base working in the explosive, pharmaceutical and airbag propellant manufacturing industries.   

Our Research and Development Center is based in a rapidly developing area of Eastern Germany, approximately one hour’s easy drive southeast of Berlin. Here you will find VOI operating at the highest levels of both safety and efficiency with state of the art development and testing capabilities.  Our team of engineers are able to utilize the very latest in technology and equipment to assist them in their development work. Once a new concept has been thoroughly tested and repeatable performances attained at all relevant levels, we apply for patenting in all necessary markets.
